About the job

Designing, developing and implementing front end code including user interface interactions and creating attractive and effective user interfaces

Required to translate technical systems specifications into working, tested applications. This includes developing detailed programming specifications, writing and/or generating code, compiling data-driven programs, maintaining, and conducting unit tests.

Resolve and troubleshoot technical problems which arise during the use and operation of software packages, including technical assistance in implementation, conversion and migrations

Required Skills

In-depth knowledge and hands‑on experience of the Angular framework and UX concepts

Thorough knowledge of web markup, HTML 5, CSS, Bootstrap and UX concepts.

Hands‑on experience with RESTful API integration.

Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards

Understanding of modern architectural practices for cloud‑based solutions.

Proven experience applying software engineering best practices and architectural practices to agile product delivery.

Extensive experience with building complex, API‑based solutions and transactional systems.

Experience with code version control systems (e.g. Git), Dev Ops practices, cloud delivery / deployment models, virtualization, and container solutions

Experience with writing automated test scripts for unit, integration and end‑to‑end testing

Actively contributed to all phases of software development life cycle (particularly focusing on agile methodologies).

Experience eliciting and documenting information from diverse business area stakeholders and subject matter experts

Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills

A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines

Experience in structured methodologies for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of applications

Knowledge and experience coding and using basic artwork to deliver a complete user interface

Experience creating web interfaces for large websites.

Experienced with complex large‑scale systems

Experience with Responsive frameworks

Experience with Social Media APIs

Experience defining product strategy and roadmap

Experience working with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities, runs beta and pilot programs with early‑stage products and samples, and becomes an expert with respect to the competition

Knowledge and experience with programming Internet‑ready applications

Knowledge and experience in rapid application development (RAD) methodologies

Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices

Experience with middleware and gateways

Experience reviewing, analyzing, and modifying product installation scripts including encoding, testing, debugging

Ability to provide post‑implementation support and resolve any post‑implementation technical issues

Experience conducting design walkthrough sessions with project team

Ability to provide user and system documentation as required

Technical Skills – 70%

3 yr+ Demonstrated experience working in front‑end web development

Extensive programming experience using Angular, Type Script, Bootstrap, and Node

Experience with tools like Redux, Webpack or Angular CLI

Must have experience with consuming SOAP and RESTful APIs

Must have hands‑on experience with Git, SVN, Git Pull Request and branching strategy

Must have hands‑on experience with Swagger‑UI, Postman, OAuth/JWT

Experience with testing framework, e.g. Jasmine

Experience with Azure Dev Ops, CI/CD pipeline, Docker are strong assets

Working knowledge of SDLC and the Agile development methodology.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with RDBMS design concepts.

Demonstrated experience in identifying risk and providing solutions.
