The Ontario Public Service (OPS) seeks a Senior Front-End Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain secure, accessible, and user-friendly components for the STR portal. This role involves building responsive interfaces, ensuring compliance with privacy and accessibility standards, and supporting critical functionality for residents submitting sensitive medical documentation. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with OPS standards.
Scope- Design, develop, upgrade, test, and implement front-end components for the STR portal
- Document technical specifications, system designs, and implementation details
- Ensure secure handling of sensitive medical documentation and compliance with privacy regulations
- Troubleshoot and resolve portal issues related to functionality, data integrity, and user access
Secure, documented front-end components for the STR portal
Technical specifications, design documents, and user guides
Comprehensive testing (unit, functional, integration, regression, security) and reporting
Defect tracking and resolution reports
Expertise RequiredMust Have:
- Extensive experience in Single Page Application development using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap
- Proficiency with frameworks such as Backbone, React, Stencil.js (Web Components)
- Strong experience integrating REST APIs (JSON, XML).
- Experience developing large-scale IT applications and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience optimizing accessibility features for Web, iOS, and Android platforms
- Familiarity with privacy and security best practices for handling sensitive medical data
- Post-secondary education in computer science or equivalent experience
