About The Role We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to build intuitive, high-performance user interfaces for trading, risk, and research platforms at a leading hedge fund. Your work will empower quantitative researchers, portfolio managers, and risk analysts with real-time insights and seamless workflows in one of the most dynamic industries in the world.
As a mid-level engineer with around 5 years of experience, you’ll take ownership of core features, collaborate with backend and quantitative engineering teams, and continuously grow your expertise in building responsive, data-driven web applications. This is a chance to apply your frontend skills in a fast-paced environment where technology directly influences investment outcomes.
What You’ll Do- Develop User Interfaces:
Build responsive, data-rich web applications that traders and analysts rely on daily. - Collaborate Across Teams:
Work with backend engineers and quantitative researchers to integrate complex data and models into intuitive interfaces. - Ensure Performance:
Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and responsiveness under real-time market conditions. - Maintain Code Quality:
Write clean, testable, maintainable code while contributing to peer reviews and team standards. - Contribute to Design Systems:
Help evolve component libraries and UI frameworks that support consistency and rapid development. - Continuous Learning:
Stay up-to-date with modern frontend technologies while expanding knowledge of financial systems.
- Professional
Experience:
5+ years building production-grade frontend applications. - Languages & Frameworks:
Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), Type Script, and experience with React (Vue or Angular also a plus). - Styling & Tooling:
Familiarity with CSS3, SCSS, Tailwind, styled-components, and build tools like Webpack, Vite, or Rollup. - Testing:
Experience with Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright. - Data Visualization:
Exposure to libraries such as D3.js, Highcharts, or Plotly is a strong plus. - Cloud & CI/CD:
Experience deploying applications in AWS, GCP, or Azure and working with CI/CD pipelines. - Collaboration:
Ability to communicate effectively with designers, backend engineers, and quantitative researchers. - Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
