The Volunteer’s Role

Cuso International is seeking a dedicated individual to take on the exciting role, focused on enhancing and promoting the services of CBC Hotels. In this volunteer position, you will also play a key role in communicating the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, as well as fostering the integration among various levels of the organization, from CBC itself to the rural tourism agency and local communities, ensuring a successful tripartite collaboration.

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Develop strategies and online channels to enhance promotion, sales, and digital payment options for CBC Hotels' services, including accommodation and rural tourism, while improving reservation capabilities.
  • Ensure the CBC Hotels website and social media platforms are kept current and engaging.
  • Assist in reinforcing the connection between CBC and rural communities.
  • Educate rural tourism service providers on Responsible Tourism and Rural Community Tourism practices.
  • Collaborate with fellow volunteers and staff during workshops and field excursions.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned based on office requirements.
  • Essential Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Tourism, Economics, International Development, Sustainable Community Development, or a related field.
  • Essential Background:

  • Experience in promoting services, digital marketing, and managing hotel and travel bookings.
  • A sincere appreciation and interest in Quechua culture and rural tourism communities, coupled with the flexibility to adapt to different contexts and environments, including visits to indigenous communities.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines, along with sound judgment; capable of working autonomously and as part of a team.

    Support Package

    If you are shortlisted, you will need to:

  • Confirm passport or permanent resident details for travel

  • Agree to uphold the Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy and Code of Conduct
