Our program areas include community justice, employment, developmental services, youth justice, and community learning hubs.

Program Counsellor within the SOAR program facilitates groups, provides life‑skills instruction for up to 12 participants, and assists individuals to develop and achieve their goals. Travel to other locations for programming is required, with services offered both virtually and in person.

• Group facilitation of life‑skills programming for individuals with developmental disabilities or dual diagnosis, managing challenging behaviours in a classroom setting.
• Community outreach and supervision of recreational outings for large groups, including safe TTC travel.
• Conflict management of challenging behaviours, offering support and suggestions.
• Job coaching, providing onsite and offsite direct support in work or volunteer environments.
• One‑to‑one counseling and support to clients and families, helping them reach individual goals.
• Health and safety oversight of the program and participants during various work or volunteer activities.
• Administrative duties, including clerical support, documentation, and internal/external communication.

• Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Social Services, Social Work, or related field.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Valid First Aid and Safe Management certifications.
• At least 2 years of recent experience with developmental disabilities or dual diagnosis in the developmental services sector.
• Experience with group facilitation (10+ individuals) in classroom and community settings.
• Strong counseling, teaching, conflict resolution, group and individual facilitation skills.
• Knowledge of the Social Inclusion Act and the Act for the Supports of Persons with Developmental Disabilities (2008).
• Working knowledge of the developmental services sector and related community resources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Proficiency in French, written and verbal.
