As a member of the military, Refrigeration and Mechanical Technicians provide support in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, aircraft-arresting systems, and radar systems to operational units at home and abroad.

The role involves installation, maintenance, and repair of various mechanical and refrigeration systems, as well as producing designs and specifications related to these systems.

Technicians work under varying environmental conditions and maintain their skills through employment at home units or on operational assignments. The position can be full-time or part-time within the Primary Reserve, with opportunities for relocation or staying at a local reserve unit.

• No prior experience required; suitable for individuals with a Grade 10 or Secondary 4 education, including Math.
• Foreign education may be accepted.

Training includes Basic Military Qualification and technical courses at the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering, covering topics like environmental skills, technical drawings, refrigeration, radar systems, and welding.

Available for the Primary Reserve, serving part-time at local units, with pay and benefits comparable to full-time service, and opportunities for deployment and volunteering for relocations.
