The Toronto Blue Jays are looking for a Security Guard!
Overview
Reporting to the Supervisor, Security Operations, the Security Guard is responsible for ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all employees, tenants, contractors and guests at Rogers Centre. The Rogers Centre Security Team is looking for an individual with a professional presence, demeanor and exceptional skills in customer service.

Provide access control for the building and interact with employees, tenants, contractors and guestsResponsible for promoting and maintaining the health, safety and well-being of all employees and guests at Rogers Centre by complying with health and safety regulations and working in a safe and conscientious mannerHave a complete understanding of all event and Rogers Centre policiesConduct regular patrols.. Ensure all private and public areas of the Rogers Centre are properly maintained and are safe for employees and guests (i.e. identification and removal of hazards, checking fire equipment and checking the perimeter of building)Conduct monthly fire extinguisher checksPerform investigations relating to deviations from standard security protocols that may include property damage, trespasses, health and safety incidentsEscalate incidents and safety concerns in accordance with established security and emergency response protocols.Maintain a legible and thorough security notebook detailing incidents that are responded to throughout your shiftRespond to emergency situations such as first aid, fire, personal injury incidents, assaultsWork closely with Emergency Services (Fire Service, Police Service and Emergency Medical Service) during emergency situations as requiredOperate on‑site security carts as neededProvide professional, and service-oriented interactions with employees, contractors, and guests while enforcing security procedures.Communicate effectively with Security leadership and team members during routine operations and emergency situations.Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times as an individual or part of a teamQualifications:
1yearof related experience or equivalent combination of related education, and experienceCollege Diploma in Security and Law Enforcement is an assetPrevious use and knowledge of CCTV is an assetExperience with radio dispatch and use of base radio’s such as, PATHComm or Metronet is an assetCandidates must hold an Ontario Security Guard license in good standing in accordance with the PSIS Act.Previous Use of Force training including proper Handcuffing and Baton use is an assetKnowledge of Criminal Code and related Provincial offences acts (i.e. Liquor License Act, Trespass to Property Act)Working knowledge of responsibilities under the Occupational Health & Safety Act and WHMI.Current CPR, AED and First Aid certificationValid Ontario G Class driver’s license is preferredSMART Serve certifiedAbility to make sound decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency response situations, with minimal supervisionProven ability to influence behavior with and without using positional authorityExcellent problem solving, negotiation and De-escalation skillsAbility to safely complete physical tasks as required, such as prolonged standing and walking, working in both indoor and outdoor environments, exposure to crowds and noise, andlifting up to 30 poundsExcellent communication skills, both written and oralLegally able to work in CanadaAvailability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on rotating 12hr shifts is requiredSalary:
The anticipated base compensation range for this role is $40,000 – $44,000. Actual base pay offered within this range may differ based on a range of factors, including individual experience, education, skills, and organizational needs.
