What does a Dispatcher in Toronto do?

    • Monitor and oversee all communications within the assigned operational area

    • Coordinate with mobile patrol units, static guards, supervisors, and clients

    • Receive, assess, and assign work instructions based on priority and resource availability

    • Maintain accurate logs, dispatch records, and incident documentation

    • Relay important updates such as road closures, traffic issues, or operational changes

    • Organize and allocate resources efficiently during regular operations and incidents

    • Assist with emergency response coordination when required

Qualifications to become a Dispatcher

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • Strong communication skills (English required; bilingualism an asset if applicable)

    • Ability to work overnight 20:00–08:00 continental rotational schedule

    • Strong computer skills and ability to learn dispatching/monitoring software

    • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to remain calm during high-pressure situations

    • Eligible to work in Canada

    • Ability to reliably commute to our North York Control Centre

    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced control centre environment
