- Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.
- Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
- Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.
- Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats, and assist hospital staff during crises and evacuations.
- Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff, providing directions and ensuring guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
- De‑escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
- Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.
- Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
- Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed, and address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards.
- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario.
- Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C (from a WSIB‑approved vendor).
- COVID vaccine (two doses).
- Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and a two‑step TB skin test.
- N95 mask fit requirement.
- English (oral and written) fluency.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field (preferred).
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB); applicants lacking these can opt into Paladin’s UoF/MOAB certification program prior to onboarding.
