Security Guard (UNIFOR TEC Security) – Part Time without Benefits

This is a unionized, part‑time position. The candidate will patrol the Toronto Eaton Centre complex, enforce access control, provide emergency response, and maintain safety and a positive shopping environment. Work will include weekends, evenings, and nights.

• Respond to emergency situations, including medical, criminal, hazardous incidents.
• Follow direction from Security Dispatch and attend emergency calls.
• Provide CPR and First Aid as required.
• Enforce the Centre’s Rules & Regulations and the Trespass to Property Act.
• Assist with crowd control and perform access control, mall lock‑downs, and open‑ups.
• Maintain a detailed logbook and prepare incident reports.
• Man the console in office lobbies after hours or when a concierge is unavailable.
• Relieve other guards during meal breaks or other duties.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service to tenants, patrons, and co‑workers.
• Assist police, fire, and emergency personnel when required.
• Support management with general matters and follow safety operational procedures (Fire Safety Plan, Emergency Response Plan, SOPs).
• Conduct level and zone patrols for high visibility and proactive security.
• Complete guard tour patrols as assigned.

• Current CPR and First Aid certificates.
• Valid Security Guard license, compliant with PSISA regulations.
• Completion of annual Use of Force training.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Good judgment, discretion, and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and diplomatic in stressful situations.
• Maintain safe working practices and demonstrate them to co‑workers.
• Complete company mandatory training.
