Job Overview

Securiguard Services is looking for experienced security guards for our various sites across Toronto & the GTA.

At Securiguard, our mission is to make people feel safe. As a security professional, you'll contribute to the safety of our stakeholders by enforcing provincial and municipal regulations, enforcing policies and procedures, monitoring CCTV systems and operating security control room equipment, controlling access to the site, reporting any hazards or security breaches, and responding to incidents.

The successful candidate will have:

• 1+ year of security experience, preferably in a Healthcare, Mall/Retail, Campus, Gov't environment, and/or a diploma in the field of security or law enforcement
• Valid Ontario Security License & Valid Standard First Aid & Level C CPR with AED
• Comfort with two-way radio communication/dispatch and/or CCTV software
• Approaches a situation with a listening mindset and empathy
• Capable of standing and walking for a duration of up to 12 hours
• Ability to problem solve, effective with crowd management and use discretion and good judgment
• Use of force training and/or Military/Law Enforcement background is an asset
• Shares and adheres to our values - REACH (Respect, Empathy, Accountability, Courtesy and Honesty)
• Punctuality & Able to stand/patrol up for up to 12 hours
• Strong ability to prepare professional daily and/or incident security reports
• Knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act (TPA), Canada Criminal Code, and 494(c)
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
• Ability to conduct arrests within appropriate and sanctioned situations
• Education background in law enforcement, such as Police Foundation/Criminology/Protection Security and Investigation is an asset
