WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Analytical Development Associate Chemist role is responsible for conducting routine and non‑routine analytical testing, supporting method development and validation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal quality standards in our Toronto Location.

PAY RANGE

The anticipated base salary for this position is $55,000 to $60,000.

Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
  • Perform testing of raw materials, finished products, stability, in process, etc., using various analytical techniques (HPLC, UPLC, GC, FTIR, UV Spectroscopy, wet chemistry, Rheology and other physical chemistry techniques).
  • With minimum support, design, develop, validate, and transfer analytical methods in accordance with regulatory requirements (ICH, USP, BP, EP).
  • Prepare, review, and execute analytical protocols and technical reports.
  • Perform calibrations and routine maintenance of analytical instrumentation as needed.
  • Ensure that the lab equipment is in good working order and take the action when required as per internal procedures and SOPs.
  • Identify and investigate Out of Trend (OOT) and Out-of-Specification (OOS) results.
  • Follow Good Laboratory Practices, Good Documentation Practices, all relevant internal procedures in all laboratories related activities and ensure compliance with Corporate Quality Systems.
  • Actively participate in the development of internal SOPs, Work Instructions, templates, logbooks, etc.
  • Support cross-training and mentoring across departments, as required.
  • Issue and reconcile laboratory notebooks in accordance with internal procedures.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in an analytical, R&D, or Quality Control laboratory within the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, or cannabis industries.
  • Solid knowledge of cGMP, GLP, ICH guidelines, USP/NF, BP, EP, and ISO standards.
  • Experience with chromatographic and other laboratory software systems (e.g., Empower, LIMS) is a plus.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and data trending for shelf‑life determination.
