As part of ZIM Log sales team, you will be responsible for developing ZIM Logistics’ customer base, by promoting ZIM Logistics’ products and services specifically with a focus on "air" or "ocean" freight and all other value added services in the designated territory of responsibility. Developing long term relationships to create a sustainable, profitable, consistent, and recurrent business. The successful candidate will ensure that ZIM Log meet its business objectives by increasing revenue and gross margin.
MajorAreas of Responsibility
- Develop customer portfolio and manage sales for new customers, providing outstanding customer service to increase customer retention,
- Increase client base within assigned geographical territory, manage profit margins and provide innovative solutions,
- Procure and present rate quotes to customers,
- Maintain sales database on a continuous basis and generate weekly and monthly reports.
- Research market trends and propose sales/marketing strategies.
- Travel within the assigned territory is required about 50%,
- Actively seek out new sales opportunities by identifying and pursue new customers in the designated territory.
- Making regular sales calls and visits existing and prospective accounts.
- Meeting and exceeding sales objectives, by leading and expanding customer base.
- Establish strong relationships with prospects' and customers' decision makers, while constantly promoting ZIM Logistics’ products and services
- Build up and maintain long-lasting relationships with existing and new suppliers (air/sea Carriers, trucking, warehouse), for pricing ad procurement activities support.
- Assist in bringing a satisfactory resolution to any dispute or dissatisfaction issue with customer.
- Maintaining Sales Database/ CRM with sales activities.
- Strong preference being given to candidates who are fluent in Cantonese or Mandarin with experience on the Transpacific Trade Lane
- Academic education:
Economics/ Business Management/ Marketing/ Logistics/ International Negotiation - preferred - Minimum 3 years of proven experience in Business Development with non-asset trucking brokerage and/or Asset ground operators / Freight Forwarders.
- Working experience in a local non-asset trucking brokerage and/or Asset ground operators / Freight Forwarder - preferred
- Proficient in MS Office
- Fluent in English (Speaking, reading and writing)
