Kitchen Leader – Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Chipotle Mexican Grill is building a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked real food. We are looking for a Kitchen Leader to help our teams consistently deliver delicious food and create a great customer experience.

About the Opportunity

As the Kitchen Leader you will learn to prepare great food, grill meats, sauté vegetables, manage inventory, maintain a clean kitchen, and develop crew members. You play a role model for team members and help promote teamwork, safety and customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure food quality by cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures.
  • Monitor food waste and inventory levels, and resolve food quality issues.
  • Support a strong team dynamic between back‑of‑house crew and front‑of‑house crew.
  • Develop crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders.
  • Communicate with crew members and customers effectively to ensure great service.
  • Ensure the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Monitor kitchen equipment and ensure it is kept in good repair; arrange repairs promptly.
  • Maintain compliance with safety guidelines to prevent injuries or accidents.
  • Complete Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and cycle inventory using FIFO.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Restaurant experience with an understanding of kitchen operations.
  • Ability to understand and articulate Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy.
  • Proficiency in the primary language(s) spoken at the work location.
  • Minimum 32 hours per week, with at least 4 days of open availability each week, including at least one Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Pay Transparency: $19.20 – $20.48 per hour, depending on skill level, experience and education. Compensation offered is subject to local wage and hour laws.
