We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Design Researcher to join a dynamic Human-Centered Design (HCD) practice with our client for a 12-month contract . In this role, you will be a key contributor to the research process, helping to shape impactful projects within a collaborative and supportive team environment. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Human-Centered Design, a proactive mindset, and a proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that drive innovation.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art research lab, collaborating with design partners and strategists to ensure human-centricity remains at the heart of the product development lifecycle.
This role requires the talent to work onsite at our client's office 3 days per week, increasing to 4 days per week later in 2026.
Responsibilities Identify research opportunities, define core research questions, and create actionable plans including the development of participant screeners and research protocols.
Execute various design research methods such as observation/ethnography, diary studies, user interviews, usability testing, card sorting, and experiments.
Utilize both qualitative and quantitative approaches to analyze collected data and create meaningful, actionable insights.
Translate research results into diverse, easily digestible formats, including experience maps, usability test reports, personas, walkthroughs, and one-pagers.
Actively partner with POD leaders, service design directors, and engineers to understand research needs and maintain strong relationships across the organization.
Map out research roadmaps and balance tasks across multiple simultaneous studies to ensure timely delivery of results.
Increase the visibility of research science methods with internal partners and share expertise to expand the team's collective knowledge base.
Manage third-party research vendors as required and provide support or mentorship to interns assigned to specific projects.
Requirements Undergraduate degree in Psychology, Anthropology, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
3–5 years of relevant research experience (including primary research conducted during graduate studies).
Deep knowledge of User-Centered Design and Human Factors research methods, with a proven ability to identify and apply the correct methodology for a given problem.
Proficiency in digital collaboration and design tools, specifically Figma , Fig Jam , and Confluence .
Strong written, oral, and graphical communication skills with the ability to present findings to diverse audiences.
Meticulous attention to detail and a highly collaborative nature.
Previous experience within the Financial Services (FI) or banking industry.
Familiarity with inferential statistics and statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS) is nice to have.
