Crafted Highlights

The Plant Sanitarian (Temporary) will be responsible for developing and executing the brewery cleaning and sanitation program, as well as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) change initiatives leading to the delivery of the Brewery and National Quality Continuous Improvement Strategy. The individual works with stakeholders to manage and improve results necessary to achieve the Quality Business Needs and the brewery’s Quality and Food Safety Plan.

The Sanitation Quality Specialist (Sanitarian) understands the Quality and Food Safety priorities and drives improvement in technical and system aspects of the business, including Quality KPIs, the Quality Management System, Food Safety, GMP and HACCP programs, sanitation, quality loss elimination, consumer satisfaction, quality defect management, and innovation initiatives. This role reports to the Quality Manager, Toronto Brewery.

What You’ll Be Brewing
  • Promotes quality excellence and execution throughout the Brewery to improve overall quality, adherence to standards, alignment to the overall site Master Plan, and customer satisfaction.
  • Leads the development and implementation of the Brewery Master Cleaning Program, including CIP and environmental cleaning programs.
  • Audits adherence to the Master Cleaning Program and provides feedback to teams where corrective actions are needed.
  • Supports and leads improvements for the Brewery Sanitation Program.
  • Supports and leads hygiene or sanitation top‑loss activities.
  • Supports facilities with pest control or other vendor programs relating to food safety or sanitation.
  • Facilitates root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement related to Quality and Food Safety.
  • Promotes development and implementation of the Quality Food Safety Pillar.
  • Serves as a resource and coach for established quality standards, procedures, quality education, and sanitation.
  • Provides quality technical knowledge and support to optimize existing equipment and processes as well as new technology.
Qualifications
  • In‑depth technical and quality knowledge of beverage manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to present information and propose solutions based on identified gaps.
  • Knowledge of regulatory agencies, such as CFIA and FDA, and GFSI and HACCP standards.
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5‑10 years of experience in a beverage or food manufacturing quality environment.
  • Experience conducting internal audits and participating in third‑party audits.
  • Experience in brewing or beverage laboratory, quality, and lean manufacturing is considered a strong asset.

Job Posting Total Rewards Offerings: $89,900.00 – $ (posting salary range). The posting range reflects what we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of posting.
