Reports to: Clinical Manager
Hours: Up to hours per week
Wage range: $ - $ per hour. (Start rate is non-negotiable)
Shifts: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends and Holidays , , , )
Status: Temporary Part-Time (Contract End Date: August 20, 2027)
Closing Date: March 5, 2026

Position Summary

As a member of the UHN multi-disciplinary Team, the REGISTERED NURSE practices in accordance with relevant legislation/standards, the UHN Professional Practice Model and the mission and vision of nursing at the UHN to provide compassionate, collaborative and competent care, while meeting the legal and ethical requirements of the profession.

Duties

  • Applying knowledge of nursing science, theory, skill and critical decision making in the provision of compassionate, collaborative and competent care in accordance with the UHN Professional Practice Model for Nursing and the mission and vision of nursing at the UHN
  • Ensuring practice is consistent with professional standards and the ethical framework as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the UHN policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrating commitment to professional life long learning by participating in continuing education activities to meet the needs of the patient population served and the standards of the profession.
  • Performing reflective practice, analyzing and evaluating nursing knowledge and modifying practice accordingly to improve the quality of nursing and patient care.
  • Performing cross-functional and other responsibilities, as assigned and/or requested.
  • Qualifications

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support ( Certification
  • Coronary care #1 and #2 an asset.
  • Cardiology experience.
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia identification and interpretation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and decision making skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be flexible and possess the ability to work effectively within a variety of patient care teams.
  • Demonstrated evidence of ongoing education in cardiac nursing.
  • preferred.
  • Strong Medical Nursing background preferred.
  • Membership in the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario preferred.
