Hours:
37.5 per week, 12‑hour shifts, days/night rotation, alternative weekends.
Wage Range: $40.24 – $57.68 per hour (non‑negotiable per collective agreement). Union: ONA. Closing Date:
January 15, 2026.
The unit is a dynamic, fast‑paced 28‑bed inpatient unit focused on cardiovascular surgery, including pyectomy, adult congenital cardiac surgery, transapical aortic valve replacements and ventricular assist device programs. Nurses care for patients with pacemakers, chest tubes, tracheotomies and VADs, and support advanced roles such as telemetry nursing.
Duties- Provide compassionate, collaborative care in accordance with UHN’s Professional Practice Model and the mission/vision of nursing.
- Practice consistently with professional and ethical standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario and UHN policies.
- Engage in lifelong learning through continuing education and professional development.
- Perform reflective practice, evaluate nursing knowledge, and modify practice to improve quality of care.
- Complete cross‑functional responsibilities as required.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) certification.
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; cardiac surgery experience preferred.
- Evidence of ongoing education in cardiac nursing and involvement in professional associations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and time‑management skills.
- Flexible and capable of working within diverse patient care teams.
- B.Sc.N. preferred.
