Position Summary
As a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, your goal is to provide excellent patient‑ and family‑driven care in a supportive, culturally sensitive manner. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, focusing on assessment, education, prevention, maintenance, and restoration of patient health. You will care for patients and families undergoing genetic terminations before, during and after birth, advance care through teaching, and contribute to the hospital’s academic mandate through research and innovation.

- Demonstrate knowledge of transfers and lifts.
- Commit to ongoing learning, professional development, and continuous quality improvement.
- Have proficiency with computers, MS Word, Internet searches, data entry, and patient information systems.
- Assume a leadership/charge role with evidence of motivation for continuing education in patient assessment, education, and related clinical specialties.
- Possess strong organisational, problem‑solving, prioritisation, time‑management, and teaching skills.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships in a family‑centred care environment.
- Be able to perform appropriately in emergency situations.
- Diploma in Nursing or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification (must obtain within 3 months of employment).
- STABLE certificate (must obtain within 6 months of hire).
- Perinatal Intensive Care Course preferred.
- Recognised breast‑feeding course.
- At least 1 year of neonatal nursing experience in a community setting.
- Bilingualism in French/English an asset.
