Director, Programs & Community Services

Tropicana Community Services is a Toronto-based multi-service organization dedicated to empowering youth, newcomers, individuals of Black and Caribbean heritage, and others in need. We provide opportunities and alternatives that support success and positive life choices. Our mission is fulfilled through culturally relevant programs including counselling, childcare, educational and employment services, and youth development initiatives. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all members of the community.

This is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Toronto, ON. The role involves delivering high‑quality services and programs aligned with Tropicana Community Services' mission and goals. Responsibilities include developing and implementing programs, engaging with the community, monitoring program outcomes, and preparing progress reports. The role may also involve collaboration with other departments, stakeholders, and community partners to meet organizational objectives.

• Strong program development, implementation, and evaluation skills
• Community engagement experience and ability to build meaningful relationships
• Excellent communication, presentation, and public speaking abilities
• Proficiency in project management and organizational skills
• Understanding of the needs of diverse communities, particularly youth, newcomers, and individuals of Black and Caribbean heritage
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently
• Knowledge of culturally appropriate services and inclusive practices
• Relevant education or training in social services, community engagement, or a related field
