About Birthright Israel Foundation of Canada

Birthright Israel Foundation of Canada (BRIFC) powers Birthright Israel in Canada, driving philanthropic support, community leadership, and alumni engagement that make the experience possible for Canadian Jewish young adults.

We steward donor relationships, broaden participation in giving, and create meaningful touchpoints that turn families into supporters and alumni into lifelong ambassadors, with many paying it forward as well. Overall, we are strengthening the Canadian network around Birthright Israel, so the impact extends well beyond the ten-day experience.

Birthright Israel began in 1999 with a simple idea: to offer young Jewish adults a life-changing educational journey in Israel that strengthens Jewish identity, deepens connection to Israel and the Jewish people, and inspires lifelong engagement. To date, Birthright Israel has welcomed more than 950,000 participants worldwide, including 50,000 Canadians.

  • Represent BRIFC at community events and programs, strengthening visibility and connections across Toronto and beyond.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support donor and BRIFC Board communications, updates, and engagement initiatives throughout the year.
  • Plan and coordinate donor engagement opportunities, including small gatherings, boardroom presentations, briefings, and donor-hosted fundraising events of any scale.
  • Support event hosts with guidance, logistics, timelines, materials, and donor follow-up plans.
  • Track event performance, donor outcomes, and next steps to ensure events translate into new, increased and sustained philanthropic investments.
  • Maintain accurate donor and prospect records in the Salesforce CRM, including call reports, meeting notes, proposals, and next actions.
  • Track pledge fulfillment and coordinate receipting, recognition, and acknowledgements in collaboration with internal colleagues.
  • Produce regular portfolio and pipeline reports, including activity, progress, and results against goals.
  • Contribute to strengthening systems and processes that improve donor experience and fundraising effectiveness.
