Job Type: Full‑Time, Permanent

Work Model: Hybrid; requiring a minimum of three (3) days per week in office

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9 AM – 5 PM

Friends of Ruby is dedicated to supporting the well‑being of 2

SLGBTQIA+ youth aged 16‑29 through mental health services, social programs, and housing, including a Youth Drop‑In Centre and a Transitional Home.

As Senior Director, Fund Development, you will be responsible for:

• Lead and execute a multi‑year philanthropic strategy focused on major gifts, corporate partnerships, and foundation grants.
• Build and manage a high‑value donor portfolio, securing transformative six‑figure commitments.
• Oversee complex and multi‑year gifts, grant development, reporting, and donor stewardship in line with CRA guidelines.
• Serve as Friends of Ruby’s chief philanthropy ambassador; engage and support the Executive Director and Board in advancing major gifts.
• Cultivate an organization‑wide culture of philanthropy and advise the Board’s Fund Development Committee using data‑driven insights.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high‑performing development team, including future staffing planning.
• Ensure ethical fundraising, CRA compliance, and strong CRM, gift management, and stewardship practices.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive philanthropic leadership experience in the non‑profit sector.
• Proven track record in major gift fundraising, with the ability to secure six‑figure commitments.
• Proficiency with donor management/CRM software (e.g., Bloomerang, Raiser’s Edge).

• Availability for occasional evenings and travel as needed.
