An opening exists in the Trade Division for the position of Trade French, Sales and Marketing Intern reporting to the Marketing Specialist, French. This is a paid internship opportunity – interns will be compensated at a rate of $17.60/ hour.

Work Location: Ideally, the successful candidate will be able to work from our downtown Toronto office at 2 Bloor Street West as needed. However, we are seeking a strong French-speaking candidate and are open to remote applicants based in Canada. Please note that all remote candidates must be available to work during Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Digital Marketing and Publicity Outreach:
    Supporting creations and mailing of PR kits;
    Supporting Influencer mailing and outreach;
    Copywriting for advertisements, activity sheets, newsletters, and more;
    Creating social media assets and helping with writing posts;
    Researching market and trends, broadly and on social media;
    Updates for French website.
  • Team Collaboration and Administrative Support:
    Participating in weekly team and department meetings – brainstorming, researching, note-taking;
    Supporting preparation for sales conference meetings:
    PowerPoint creation and note-taking;
    Maintaining marketing databases and trackers;
    Assisting in creation of order forms;
    Attending events, as required;
    Any other ad-hoc duties, as required.
Qualifications
  • Bilingual in French and English
  • Interest in children’s books, authors and media
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams), Google Suite (Google Slides, Drive), and overall computer literacy
  • Fluency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and trends
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical and communication skills
  • Keen ability to prioritize varied and challenging tasks
  • Personal values that are aligned with Scholastic’s Credo, including a demonstrated understanding of the importance of broadening representation of marginalized communities within the publishing industry.
