Job Description

Bell Media is looking for a Publicist to support external and internal communications initiatives for TSN and sports across Bell Media.

Reporting to the Manager, Communications, TSN, CTV News, and iHeart

Radio Canada, the Publicist will also support publicity initiatives for CTV News and iHeart

Radio Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute strategic and proactive communications plans to ensure clear, consistent, and appropriate messaging for each campaign
  • Write and edit media materials including press releases, stories for , newsletters, bios, photo alerts, backgrounders, etc. for external and internal communications purposes
  • Address media requests, develop key messages and talking points, and pitch/coordinate media interviews and press junkets
  • Build and maintain relationships with various print, radio, and digital media through regular contact and pitches
  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including partners and vendors, through regular contact
  • Manage consistent and ongoing social media strategy for @
  • Monitor social media for a range of issues and feedback
  • Assist in the development of executive materials, including talking points, presentations, and reports
  • Support issues management as required
  • Plan and execute photo shoots as required
  • Lead talent relations for TSN, and support CTV News and iHeart

    Radio Canada personalities, including media interviews and profile building appearances.
  • Support Bell Media’s broader events and initiatives.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a university degree and/or public relations degree or equivalent with a minimum of three years’ experience in the communications/sports/media/entertainment industry, preferred
  • A strong multi-tasker, organized, and efficient, and capable of working on multiple priority projects at once
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills
  • Evidence of good working relationships with the media
  • The ability to liaise professionally with members of the media, partners, on‑air personalities, producers and other internal and external contacts
  • The ability to take initiative and work well under pressure
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy
  • Detail oriented and able to meet deadlines, with strong ability to take initiative and prioritize projects
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
