Reports To: Technical Manager

About the Role

Polytainers is seeking a hands-on Tool Room Supervisor to lead our Tool Room and support Molding operations. In this role, you’ll combine technical expertise with team leadership, ensuring molds and tooling assets are reliable, capable, and ready to meet production demands. You’ll oversee maintenance, repairs, and preventative programs, while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance mold performance, reduce cycle times, and improve product quality—all while maintaining safety and compliance standards.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technical leader to influence production excellence and make a tangible impact on operations and cost performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Tool Room personnel, Mold Technicians, Process Technicians, and Operators.
  • Ensure all molds are production-ready, qualified, and compliant with quality and customer standards.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance, mold repairs, overhauls, and vendor coordination.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization, cycle time reduction, and cost savings.
  • Manage the Tool Room budget and capital projects for tooling upgrades.
  • Promote a safe, compliant, and organized workplace, delivering safety training and monitoring adherence to OHSA, SQF/HACCP, GMP, and 5S standards.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for tooling issues, providing guidance and solutions to support production teams.

Who You Are

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • Licensed Mould Maker certification strongly preferred.
  • 8–10 years of experience in injection molding and tooling, with progressive leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and mold maintenance practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, mechanical troubleshooting, and project management skills.
  • A team-focused leader who can coach, motivate, and develop talent.
  • Results-driven, accountable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
