POSITION SUMMARY:
The Forklift Operator reports to the Warehouse Manager/Supervisor and is responsible for supplying the necessary materials and/or product to the molding/printing departments. They will put away finished product that comes out of the Molding and Printing departments, placing them into the designated area according to the warehouse footprint.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure accuracy of all scanning transactions in the LX system, as well as physical movement of product throughout the warehouse
- Pick orders as requested
- Load trucks as requested
- Provide support for the inventory control and/or QC department as per supervisor’s request
- Follow directions provided when putting together customer orders to ensure orders are organized and put together as per customer specifications, build up skids for shipment if required
- Fulfill all HACCP requirements and report any critical control point non-conformances
- Work and act in a safe manner, following all company safety rules and regulations
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Warehouse Manager/Supervisor
- Store all finished and unfinished product in their appropriate warehouse location
- Properly maintain forklift/reach truck and ensure a daily vehicle check is conducted prior to shift and the inspection checklist is completed and submitted to the Manager/Supervisor
- Gather, weigh, log transfer and load all scrap as required
- Organize and consolidate skids to ensure Warehouse efficiency (the same product together in one place)
- Ensure the Warehouse is maintained in an orderly fashion, completing housekeeping responsibilities as required
- Report all safety incidents and concerns to the Warehouse Manager or Supervisor
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
Educational Requirements: Grade 12 education or equivalent
Minimum Experience/Field: Three years Forklift experience in a fast paced Production/Manufacturing environment
Certifications
Required:
Must be a certified Forklift operator (both Reach and Counterbalance)
Communication
Skills:
must have good command of the English language both verbal and written
Additional Education/Experience/
Skills:
- Must be able to perform basic mathematical skills
- Ability to apply good hand-eye coordination in the operation of the forklift
- Proficiently operate handheld RF Scanner
Working Conditions :
- Work is performed in a production environment with high levels of noise and dust when in the production areas.
- Heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds and prolonged standing is required.
- Walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling and some repetitive arm, wrist and shoulder movements are required in this position.
