Work Schedule: Weekend Shift: Friday – Sunday; 6:00 am- 6:00 pm (36hrs per week) .

Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members .
The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $25.75.

This position may also be eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP). AIP amounts are variable and are dependent on both company and team performance, subject to eligibility criteria. The target bonus percentage for this role is 4% of annual base earnings.

Join Our Team as a Finishing Operator!

Are you passionate about finishing? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual for our metal-enclosed switchgear finishingfunction. As a Finishing Operator, you will be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous productive activity and must meet requirements within predetermined time constraints. Tasks require the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chipping of parts prior to loading
  • Hand cleaning and surface preparation of parts prior to loading
  • Load parts with proper tagging
  • Unload different parts to crats/skids related to the same job
  • Record all data on the appropriate sheet/tablet
  • Apply Aquaban (Anti-Condensation Coating) to parts that require it
  • Select the route for parts to follow
  • Select the paint colour for the parts to be painted
  • Maintain your workstation in a clean, well-ordered fashion at all times - floor swept
  • Ensure that garbage is emptied and the floor is free of debris prior to the end of the shift.
  • What you’ll Need To Succeed:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience in manufacturing
  • Good knowledge of Cranes, Walkies and pneumatic grinders
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics and follow written or verbal instructions
  • Attention to detail and quality
  • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
  • Team player and good communication skills
  • Prior powder painting experience will be considered as an asset.
  • Physical demands:

  • Standing:
    All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
  • Lifting:
    Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs to 20 lbs.
  • Walking:
    Occasional walking moderate distances (less than 1km).
  • Carrying:
    Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 20 lbs.
  • Pushing:
    Occasional pushing of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
  • Pulling:
    Occasional pulling of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
  • Bending:
    Frequent bending and crouching to safely lift parts of various sizes and shapes.
  • Reaching:
    Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.
  • Handling:
    Continuous handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 20 lbs.
