Work Schedule: Weekend Shift: Friday – Sunday; 6:00 am- 6:00 pm (36hrs per week)
Contract period: 1 year
Compensation
At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members and are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $22.75.
This position is entitled to a shift premium of $2.50 per hour.
Join Our Team as an Assembler – Switches!Are you passionate about assembly? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual for our metal-enclosed switch gear assembly function. As an Assembler – Switches, you will be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous productive activity and must meet requirements within predetermined time constraints. Tasks require the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble moderately complex mechanical and electrical components with numerous pieces and installation steps.
- Assemble basic mechanical and electrical components, cut, crimp, strip, and label wires according to schematics and assembly instructions. Mount electrical components while routing and securing cables neatly within assemblies.
- Inspect mechanical and electronic components and assemblies to ensure correct component selection, placement, and wiring, according to quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of tasks performed, deviations, and any quality concerns.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols while handling tools, equipment, and materials. Report any safety hazards promptly.
- Complete in‑house training to learn how to read basic blueprints and Bills of Materials (BOLs).
- Meet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards.
- Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
- 0-1 year of experience in assembly with a desire to learn electrical/mechanical assembly processes, follow assembly instructions, and use various hand/power tools to assemble products.
- Proficient in performing precise and delicate tasks using hands and fingers. Able to manipulate small objects, operate tools, and handle intricate equipment effectively.
- Good attention to detail, with the ability to determine accurate order quantities consistently.
- Ability to work independently and meet requirements of assigned materials requests.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications.
- Basic math skills with the ability to calculate measurements and weights.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team member inside and outside of the department.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measurement tools.
- Ability and willingness to follow Health, Safety & Environment procedures accurately, reporting concerns promptly to the safety action team.
- Capable of embracing diversity and equity to ensure they contribute to a respectful and inclusive workplace.
