Production Supervisor

My client is seeking a hands‑on and experienced Production Supervisor to lead day‑to‑day operations in a unionized manufacturing environment producing high‑voltage equipment for the power transmission industry.

This is a floor‑focused leadership role requiring strong operational discipline, safety leadership, and the ability to drive performance in a make‑to‑order production setting.

• Lead and supervise hourly production employees in a unionized environment
• Execute production plans while meeting safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets
• Ensure compliance with Ontario health and safety regulations (OHSA, ESA, WSIB)
• Participate in EHS risk assessments and hazard mitigation initiatives
• Lead or support root cause investigations (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
• Develop and implement manufacturing procedures and standard work
• Partner cross‑functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain
• Monitor key KPIs including labor efficiency, scrap, downtime, and rework
• Support Lean, continuous improvement, and 5S initiatives

• Proven leadership experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of Ontario occupational health and safety regulations
• Experience driving root cause analysis and continuous improvement
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Post‑secondary education in Manufacturing or a related field is an asset

Experience in high‑voltage equipment, aluminum conductors, insulation processes, annealing, or wire drawing is considered an asset.
