Adecco in partnership with our client, a global leader in manufacturing, is currently hiring a full-time Manufacturing Engineer to join their operations team in east Toronto, ON. This role is critical to ensuring accurate process planning, efficient manufacturing workflows, and high-quality production outcomes. The Manufacturing Engineer (Process Planner) owns the Bill of Manufacture, including routing, BOMs, and production instructions, while supporting change management and driving continuous improvement across the manufacturing lifecycle.

  • Pay Rate: $75,000 - $90,000/year (based on experience)

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of manufacturing, process planning, or engineering experience, ideally in a make-to-order environment.
  • Manual assembly manufacturing experience is desirable.
  • Engineering Degree or College Diploma preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Proficient with ERP systems, BOM maintenance, routing, and production planning.
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Smartsheet.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, safety rules, process instructions, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience leading teams or facilitating group meetings is considered an asset.
  • APICS CPIM and/or Supply Chain Management certification is an asset.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA, or Continuous Improvement methodologies is a bonus.
  • Commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and following company quality standards.
  • Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
Responsibilities:
  • Create, define, and maintain key production master files including Item Masters, Phantoms, Process Plans, and Job Plans.
  • Ensure BOMs are linked to the correct sequence/cost center to support material allocation and production planning.
  • Manage BOM import files, troubleshoot errors, and ensure accuracy throughout the system.
  • Collaborate with Estimating and Cost Accounting to reconcile BOMs and support cost standards.
  • Participate in First-Off Reviews with Quality to validate production readiness.
  • Coordinate the timely release of plans to support manufacturing and procurement needs.
  • Communicate plan updates as BOMs evolve and ensure all documentation remains accurate and up to date.
  • Work with the Business Unit and Scheduling teams to develop plan structures that support forecasts and long lead-time purchases.
  • Review and assess the impact of BOM changes on process plans, production stages, costing, procurement, and inventory levels.
  • Update all affected files, including Process Plans, Order Plans, Item Masters, and Phantom Masters.
  • Communicate BOM updates to cross-functional teams to ensure correct usage in manufacturing.
  • Review completed jobs flagged with exceptions to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Monitor and analyze production reporting data-direct/indirect hours, rework, labor distribution.
  • Conduct time studies to support accurate routing.
  • Support Cost of Quality reporting, tracking rework time, materials usage, and related metrics.
  • Validate Summary Sheets and Process Plans to ensure all items and quantities are accurate and aligned with the BOM.
