Overview    Under the supervision of the Supply Chain Manager, the person will be responsible for the production planning functions, short to long term, and make sure that the production for the sales plan is well balanced within the production capacity of the 2 Toronto plants (575 and 610). The person will also be in charge of updating certain performance indicators and publishing them within the plant.

They will also play a role in deploying certain improvement projects.
** Key responsibilities
*** Lead and communicate the daily, weekly and monthly production planning process according to the most up-to-date sales forecast plan
* Plan for the four main production lines
* Collaborate with the purchasing team to ensure we can execute the daily production schedule and have the required raw materials and packaging available to do so
* Assist in managing unfinished inventory (WIP and bulk) with the production team
* Contribute to improving the plant’s OEE efficiency by balancing customer service  levels and various production constraints (limited schedule changes, setup changes, etc.)
* Ensure effective communication and collaboration between supply chain, production, R&D, QC, purchasing, shipping/receiving, and distribution teams by leading daily production planning meetings
* Education in Operations Management (Bachelor’s or College degree) or 5 years of related experience in the food industry (any combination of training and equivalent experience will be considered).
* Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, semi-automated or automated.
* Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel).
* Knowledge of SAP system.
* Strong analytical skills, able to identify improvement opportunities and solve problems.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Autonomous, proactive, and resourceful.
* Works well under pressure and in a team environment.
** Work Schedule and Conditions
*** Day shift, but the position requires some schedule flexibility.
* Office (5 days per week)
