Maintenance Millwright Mechanic role at Atlantic Packaging Products Ltd.

Primary

Purpose:

Ensure operation of mechanical systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and troubleshooting problems on conveyors and machinery, using manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, etc.

• Maintenance:
  Focus on minimizing downtime through preventive maintenance and effective troubleshooting techniques.
• Prepare maintenance reports and make recommendations for improvements as necessary.
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending education workshops.
• Repair and replace pumps, valves, motors, etc., as required.

• Perform quality checks on all work performed.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety and housekeeping practices, and using personal protective equipment.
• Prepare maintenance reports and recommend improvements as necessary.

• Maintain documentation as required by Atlantic Packaging
• Utilize documentation in CMMS
• Install new machines and equipment
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results and other duties as assigned
• Inform production workers of routine mechanical preventive maintenance plans

• Must have a valid Ontario Industrial Mechanic License - 433A
• Red Seal Journeyman certification

• Minimum 2–3 years of previous experience in a manufacturing environment
• Exposure to mechanical devices, pneumatic controls and welding/cutting
• All-position welding preferred (stainless steel pipe, guard repairs, etc.)

• Troubleshooting skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with all employees
• Ability to read mechanical drawings
