WEARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Packaging Development Associate to join our Research & Development team on a full-time and permanent basis. This position will be based out of our Fraser Head Office located in Liberty Village and will require candidates to work on-site, 5-days a week
.
- Conduct and document a variety of packaging tests, including fill weight assessments.
- Collaborate with various teams (R&D, Design, Brand, Supply chain, Regulatory, Sustainability, Quality, Production, Project managers) to support packaging initiatives.
- Perform packaging compatibility by designing soak tests to evaluate material interactions with product formulas.
- Review and interpret technical drawings and specifications for packaging components and conduct dimensional checks on received samples, noting discrepancies and reporting them.
- Perform functionality testing to assess the performance of packaging components (e.g., pumps, caps, dispensers).
- Conduct investigation tests to identify root causes of packaging problems and propose solutions.
- Coordinate the arrangement of packaging samples for testing and organize and maintain the inventory of lab samples.
- Support the development of new packaging solutions and the improvement of existing ones and order and maintain new packaging components for various projects.
- Support packaging line trials at production facilities or with third-party manufacturers, including assessing performance, troubleshooting, and documenting results.
- Maintain and organize accurate records of all test results and findings and assist in the generation and safekeeping of technical documentation.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or technical field (Materials Science/Chemical Engineering/Packaging Science).
- 1+ year of prior experience in a lab or R&D environment is preferred, particularly within the cosmetics or consumer goods industry.
- Understanding of packaging development and packaging assessment principles.
- Basic understanding of Packaging materials and testing methods.
- Strong Attention to Detail, passion for hands‑on, lab‑based work, excellent organizational and time management skills.
