The Redevelopment portfolio includes all major CAMH development, renovations, Facilities Maintenance (FM) and Plant Operations & Maintenance (POM) services, and works to ensure the seamless and smooth daily operations of CAMH properties. Senior Manager, Facilities Planning and Development

Reporting To the Director Of Facilities Planning, Plant Operations And Maintenance & P3 FM Contracts, the Senior Manager is responsible for:

  • Strategic leadership of the Facilities Planning and Development program and team;
  • Oversight of all construction and renovation projects including Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund (HIRF) projects, Capital Renewal and Space Management;
  • Oversight of specialty services including off‑site leases, signage & way finding for existing buildings, CAMH‑wide moving services, surplus furniture storage/reuse, and capital asset management.

The Senior Manager is accountable to:

  • Manage a team of project managers and facility planners;
  • Ensure high‑quality execution of all aspects of projects, consistent with CAMH priorities;
  • Triage all project requests and implement best‑practice tools and processes to ensure consistent and equitable management of project requests and approved projects;
  • Oversee all aspects of CAMH's internal capital renovation projects from conception through to close‑out, ensuring compliance with relevant hospital processes, policies and procedures, and applicable guidelines, standards, codes and regulations;
  • Build and maintain positive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Oversee and manage external architectural/engineering consulting services;
  • Oversee all construction activities, including contract management;
  • Develop and maintain lists of pre‑qualified vendors, consultants and contractors;
  • Coordinate variations to support projects in the P3 (Design Build Finance Maintain) buildings on site;
  • Maintain a master project list reflecting the full portfolio of projects and including all relevant metrics;
  • Oversee the maintenance of space management records including utilization metrics;
  • Manage CAMH off‑site leases including renewals, space upgrades and terminations.

The Senior Manager will provide strategic direction for the program, identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, effectiveness and/or the ability to maximize the number of high‑quality projects within the available funding envelopes. They will provide direct supervision to the Facilities Planning and Development team including recruitment, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and professional development. They will collaborate with Finance to establish and monitor annual operating budgets along with the annual capital budgets for space planning, HIRF and Capital Renewal, and collaborate with Procurement to secure consultants and contractors.

They will oversee the integration of communications and change management to support effective and equitable space allocation and management. They will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. Minimum Requirements
