Job Description

As part of the Senior Management Team in Strategic Initiatives & Regulatory Delivery (SI&RD), you will oversee the Strategic Content and Enablement portfolios. This is a high‑impact role that blends exceptional storytelling with strategic content development and workforce enablement related to security and risk across the organization. This position is well suited for a senior leader with strong relationship management and influencing skills.

This role reports to the Vice President, Strategic Initiatives & Regulatory Delivery – Global Security, and supports the Office of RBC’s Chief Security Officer.

What will you do?
  • GS Strategy and Annual Updates:
    Oversee orchestration, content development, and co‑crafting of Global Security’s Strategy and Annual Updates. Develop strategic content and translate performance metrics into compelling narrative during reporting cycles, promoting a shared understanding of the bank’s security and risk priorities and posture.
  • Board & Executive Communications:
    Develop and deliver strategic messaging and content for presentations to RBC’s Board of Directors and sub‑boards, Risk Committees, and operational committees, translating complex technical concepts into clear updates. In addition, oversee multiple internal communications plans in support of Executives and key strategic programs/initiatives.
  • Practice Enablement:
    Drive the practice enablement capability, focusing on (1) building future skills/reskilling our workforce, (2) early talent development, and (3) capability building of GS’s people managers and future leaders.
  • GS Branding & Content Hub:
    Oversee GS’s overall visual and verbal design standards, develop reusable templates and message maps to drive messaging consistency, and develop GS’s self‑serve content hub.
What do you need to succeed? Must have
  • 15‑20 years of strategic communications experience, including executive communications, reputation management, and/or change management in a global organization.
  • Strategy development experience within a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas for varied audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Leadership and stakeholder management skills to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • University degree or equivalent business experience.

  • Graphic Design Expertise:
    Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator).
  • Professional

    Certifications:

    CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) or SCMP (Strategic Communication Management Professional).
  • Security & Risk

    Certifications:

    CRISC (Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control) or CCISP (Certified Cyber Security and Information Professional).
  • Change Management

    Certifications:

    Prosci or CCMP (Certified Change Management Professional).
