Job Summary

The Manager, Maintenance Operations Control (MOC) is responsible for the real‑time oversight and coordination of aircraft maintenance events impacting the operational schedule. This role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient recovery of aircraft through proactive maintenance control, MEL management, AOG response, and cross‑functional coordination with Flight Operations, SOCC, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Line Maintenance.

The Manager leads the 24/7 MOC function, ensuring optimal aircraft availability while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory, safety, and reliability standards.

Duties & Responsibilities Operational Control & Aircraft Recovery
  • Provide real‑time maintenance decision‑making for the active fleet to minimize delays, cancellations, and diversions.
  • Oversee MEL/CDL/NEF deferral strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational viability.
  • Direct and prioritize AOG recovery efforts, including troubleshooting, parts sourcing, and maintenance dispatch.
  • Approve aircraft returns to service in coordination with Engineering and Maintenance leadership.
Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Act as the primary maintenance liaison with:
    • System Operations Control Center (SOCC)
    • Flight Operations
    • Line Maintenance & MROs
    • Engineering, Fleet & Reliability
    • Supply Chain & Logistics
  • Participate in daily operations calls, disruption recovery planning, and irregular operations (IROPs).
Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop MOC Controllers in a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Ensure staffing levels, training, and competency standards support safe operations.
  • Establish escalation protocols and decision authority frameworks.
Safety, Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure all maintenance control activities comply with:
    • The Appropriate Regulatory authorities
    • Company Manuals, MEL, and SMS requirements
  • Support Safety Management System (SMS) reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Serve as a key contributor during audits, regulatory inspections, and incident response.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
  • Track and improve key operational metrics, including:
    • Dispatch Reliability
    • Technical Delays & Cancellations
    • AOG Duration
    • MEL Exposure & Repeat Deferrals
  • Drive process improvements through data analysis, post‑event reviews, and system enhancements.
  • Support implementation of new systems and software.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license
  • 7–10+ years of airline maintenance experience, including:
    • Line Maintenance, Maintenance Control, or Engineering
    • 3–5+ years in a leadership or supervisory role within an airline operational…
