Our client, a Top 5 bank in Canada is looking to hire a Senior Project Manager for an initial 6 Month contract with a high possibility of extension and conversion. This role is 2 days a week in the office in downtown Toronto.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee and manage the delivery of complex work-packages within a multi-year compliance program. You will work with minimal direction, using your in-depth knowledge and experience in project management to ensure successful execution of projects, adherence to timelines, and alignment with bank's delivery frameworks:
  • Project Management:
    Lead the outlining of project goals, terms of reference, and resource requirements. Develop a resource plan that ensures stakeholder engagement and assesses project practices for continuous improvement.
  • Project Governance:
    Consolidate information from various business units and vendors to ensure alignment with approved budgets and bank's Delivery Framework.
  • Financial Management:
    Manage project financials, including forecasting, accruals, and actuals alignment.
  • Collaboration:

    Work closely with business partners and the Program Management Office to facilitate informed decision-making and negotiation of project deliverables and milestones.
  • Project Coordination:
    Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure project milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Communication and Persuasion:
    Lead workstream meetings, prepare executive-level presentations, and participate in program governance meetings to keep management informed of project status and progress.
  • Relationship Building:
    Develop and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leadership:
    Provide mentorship and guidance to colleagues, sharing your extensive project management expertise.
  • Must-Have

    Skills:

  • 8-10 years' experience as Business PM
  • Exp. managing project budget of over $2M+.
  • Nice to have:
  • 3-5 years in managing regulatory programs
  • PMP certified
    * strong nice to have
  • Experience with in FI especially CIBC
  • Planview experience.
