Is a rapidly growing national organization who is looking for a Director of Legal. This presents an exciting opportunity to join a business-facing legal team during a period of scale and transformation.
The role is based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) with a hybrid work model requiring three days per week in-office. Free on-site parking is available.
The mandate is to bring in a high-quality, experienced, commercially minded leader who can elevate the legal function, operate autonomously, and partner closely with senior leadership.
Responsibilities- Hands-on, in-house corporate and commercial generalist role
- Significant exposure to the CEO and senior business leadership
- Broad commercial contracting responsibility (dealer/distribution, vendor/supplier, services, etc.)
- Regulatory matters handled separately; some involvement in land review and construction-related matters
- Managing and mentoring 1-2 direct reports
- JD/LLB
- 5-7+ years of experience, ideally with a strong national or top-tier firm background, followed by in-house exposure
- Highly commercial, proactive, and comfortable advising senior stakeholders
- Enjoys building, improving, and scaling a legal function
- Experience in construction, infrastructure and/or energy is an asset
