What is the opportunity?

Enterprise Strategy & Transformation (ES&T), RBC’s cross-enterprise internal consulting and corporate strategy team, is organized under RBC’s Chief Legal and Administrative Officer (CLAO) Group. The ES&T team serves as thought partners to senior executives, offering targeted support for the highest priority and most complex strategic problems, and helps to develop and articulate RBC’s enterprise strategy and line of business strategies. The team also acts as a catalyst for enterprise transformation, cross-platform collaboration, and new capability development, and drives RBC’s strategic agenda across the Board, CEO, and Group Executive level.

ES&T offers a dynamic, fast-paced, and exciting environment with unique exposure to distinct parts of the bank. Working within a high-performance area of the bank, the team provides opportunities for skill development, career advancement, and the chance to work on the bank’s most ambitious initiatives.

What will you do?
  • Perform comprehensive strategic reviews and analyses leveraging frameworks, approaches, tools and methodologies and develop robust recommendations to support Group Executive, segment Operating Committees, and lines of business
  • Ensure growth strategies are well developed, articulated and aligned across businesses and with enterprise perspective/priorities, and proactively identify benefits such as revenue streams or cost savings opportunities
  • Support the annual enterprise strategic development process, business portfolio review, and related senior leader off sites/events to advance RBC’s strategy
  • Produce strategy materials for Group Executive and Board for review, discussion, and decision
  • Gain the position of trusted advisor and help facilitate trade‑off / prioritization decisions with senior leaders, strategists, functions, cross‑functional project teams and colleagues by providing rigorous strategic insight based on thorough research and analysis
  • Manage work streams and present engagement deliverables, raising risks / issues and providing solutions to minimize impact on timelines
What do you need to succeed? Must‑have
  • 3+ years of experience in Corporate Strategy, Consulting, Capital Markets or product management/strategy experience within a Financial Services, Fin Tech or technology company
  • Experience with new/emerging businesses and digital business models
  • Demonstrated ability in project design, management and implementation
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships at every level of the organization
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills and presence; strong technical ability with PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous situations and across different lines of business
Nice‑to‑have
  • MBA or graduate / post‑graduate or professional designations or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of deep and broad management consulting experience with an emphasis on business strategy
