The Team Lead, Private Client Insurance is focused on providing leadership, strategic direction, and hands‑on expertise within our Private Client practice. This role is ideal for a seasoned insurance professional who excels at building trusted advisor relationships with affluent clients while inspiring and developing a team of advisors to deliver exceptional service and sustainable growth. The Team Lead will balance people leadership with direct management of a select portfolio of key client relationships, playing a critical role in strengthening our market presence and driving long‑term value for both clients and the firm.
KeyAccountabilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Private Client Advisors, fostering a high-performance, service‑excellence culture
- Oversee day‑to‑day workflow, capacity planning, and service standards to ensure timely, accurate, and proactive client delivery
- Manage a portfolio of the firm’s key high net worth client relationships, providing bespoke risk and insurance solutions
- Drive retention, cross‑selling, and organic growth within the portfolio
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal client service standards and insurer underwriting guidelines
- Monitor pipeline activity and sales metrics, providing coaching and accountability to achieve growth objectives
- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategy, process improvement, and service model enhancements
- Monitor team performance through KPIs, conducting regular reviews, coaching sessions, and development planning
- Act as a technical and strategic escalation point for insurance placements, renewals, and claims advocacy
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members
- Represent the Private Client practice with insurers, underwriting partners, and at client or industry events
- 10+ years of experience in high-net-worth personal insurance
- Demonstrated experience managing and growing a high net worth or VIP client portfolio, including complex home, auto, excess liability, and specialty risks
- RIBO license required; CIP, CRM or related designations are considered assets
- Proficient with insurance management software such as EPIC
- Strong knowledge of high-net-worth insurers such as Chubb, Intact Prestige, Aviva Ovation and Northbridge Onyx
- Experience with insurer portals such as Intact, Aviva, Definity, Northbridge are considered an asset
- Strong relationship management and communication skills
- Solid knowledge of insurance products, policies, and regulatory environment
- Self-motivated and team-oriented, with strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Results-driven, customer-focused, with strong problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
