Join EY and help build a better working world. The Finance and Operations Manager is responsible for the day‑to‑day functions of the Team and reports to the Director of Partnership Operations.

The role supervises three colleagues, oversees recurring accounting and operations processes, implements internal controls, develops team performance, and supports executives on special projects. This position relies heavily on detail orientation and confidentiality.

Your

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director with team management by providing coaching, training, and task assignment to junior members while fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Oversee all monthly and year‑end processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Generate and provide accurate, timely reports and presentations that communicate key insights and support data‑driven decision making.
  • Manage and comply with provincial and federal reporting requirements and related tax filings, adhering to laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Respond to accounting and general inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective management and resolution.
  • Develop and maintain accounting and partnership files and records, identifying and implementing operational improvements.
  • Support executives on special projects for internal and external stakeholders, including forecasting, reporting, and modeling data. Demonstrate critical thinking, innovative problem solving, and identify processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Lead, oversee, and champion change management initiatives, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and standards.

  • Advanced knowledge in accounting software and financial reporting tools.

  • Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to develop, share, and adopt innovative approaches while embracing technology to improve operations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, upholding the highest ethical standards of honesty, integrity, and transparency.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders at all levels; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
To qualify for the role you must have
  • Professional accounting designation, CPA required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive financial management experience.
  • Experience in people management, coaching, and delegating tasks in a complex organization.
  • Effective time‑management skills and flexibility to work with changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.
  • Compliance with all confidentiality policies of the Firm and applicable regulatory authorities.
  • Position is fully on‑site and requires working from the Toronto office.
