Elmwood Spa — one of Toronto’s most recognized urban day spas — is seeking a dedicated Maintenance
Supervisor to oversee operations for our downtown properties:
Elmwood Spa, Bangkok Garden Restaurant, and Elmwood Business Offices.
Elmwood Spa and elmspa are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor – Operations to oversee and perform day‑to‑day maintenance activities across our spa facilities. This is a hands‑on supervisory role in a live, guest‑facing environment, supporting safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations. The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with the Building Operator for system‑level issues and does not include engineering or building system optimization responsibilities.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Supervise and perform daily maintenance across spa facilities, including treatment rooms, pools, steam rooms, saunas, change rooms, and back‑of‑house areas
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies, including after‑hours calls as part of an on‑call rotation
- Complete minor repairs and corrective maintenance within approved scope
- Execute and document preventative maintenance tasks and routine inspections
- Supervise and schedule maintenance staff to support operational needs
- Coordinate approved contractors and trades, ensuring work is authorized, safe, and minimally disruptive
- Maintain work orders, maintenance logs, keys, and access records
- Escalate system‑level issues to the Building Operator or management as required
- Support health, safety, and environmental compliance (WHMIS, PPE, pool operations support)
- Communicate clearly with Operations, Spa Leadership, and other departments
- 3+ years of hands‑on maintenance experience (hospitality, spa, or guest‑facing environments preferred)
- Previous supervisory or lead‑hand experience
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and pool systems
- Pool maintenance experience required
- WHMIS certification required
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on‑call rotation
- Bondable with a clean criminal background check
