The Maintenance Worker is responsible for day-to-day general maintenance and upkeep as well as emergency maintenance required in a shopping centre environment. To ensure success in this role, you will be able to balance preventative work requests and tasks, work with various building systems, meet tight deadlines, and work in a large, fast-paced environment.

As a Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Answering Tenant Calls and prioritizing work order requests

  • Maintaining a preventative maintenance program through the MRI Angus system

  • Performing site inspections, instituting recommendations, and corrective actions

  • Assist with both internal and external customer requests as required (marketing, administration office, leasing, etc.)

  • Perform minor repairs for both interior and exterior aspects of the property

  • General upkeep and maintenance of the building – drywall patching, door repairs (hinges, pivots, door handles, door closures), maintenance shop supplies and tool inventory, tile setting, and other duties as assigned

  • Daily inspections for washrooms - plumbing (snaking lines, fixture replacement, shutoff valve repair, vacuum breakers replacement, flush valves repair and install), washroom stall hardware repairs, water fountain maintenance and repairs.

  • Performing all other tasks assigned by supervisor & manager

  • To succeed in this role, you have:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of work-related experience

  • BES 1 & 2 preferred

  • Driven to achieving results and continuously striving to deliver the highest performance through creative thinking

  • General handyman skills, experience with hand tools and power tools, knowledgeable on Occupational Health and Safety codes and requirements.

    The expected hourly rate for this position is $25.00 to $29.00 per hour.
