Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the candidate is expected to maintain and repair all mechanical equipment within the hospital’s complex. Responsibilities include installing, replacing, and maintaining water, sewer, and other system components; performing general maintenance duties as required; and participating in a rotating on‑call program. The role involves responding to facility or community emergencies at any time and performing duties assigned by the Facilities Manager.
Requirements- Valid Red Seal trade license in a related field.
- Twelve (12) months of post‑ticket experience in an industrial, institutional, or commercial maintenance environment.
- Minimum three (3) years of recent experience in a similar role.
- Familiarity with TSSA, CSA Standards, and Hospital equipment manuals.
- Valid basic (G Class) drivers’ license.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and accurate keyboarding skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer‑service skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines and adapt to changing demands with flexibility and efficiency.
- Self‑directed work habits in a demanding, fast‑paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Positive team‑based skills.
- Commitment to SHN's comprehensive safety programs, staff and patient safety, environmental safety, and participation in regular in‑service education.
- Commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers, and community members.
- Alignment with SHN's Code of Conduct and commitment to fostering a healthy, positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation.

- Journeyperson Plumber Certificate.
