Cleaning Technician & Lead HandLocation:
New Market & Aurora, ON.
Work Environment:
On-site at various client locations (indoor/outdoor)
Job Type: Full-Time
Wage: ($22-$24 based on experience)
Lead-Hand Duties- Assist in training/coaching new cleaning staff in proper techniques, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Assist in maintaining adequate inventory of cleaning supplies and ensure equipment is functional and properly maintained.
- When necessary, serve as the primary on-site contact for clients and address any service-related concerns or escalations.
- Report to site and complete cleaning duties when necessary due to shorted handed/no shows.
- Sweep, mop and sanitize assigned areas.
- Clean and restock restrooms and high-touch surfaces.
- Pick up debris and empty garbage containers.
- Follow site-specific cleaning requirements.
- Vacuum carpets, runners, and regular maintenance on equipment.
- Responsible for site security:
Alarm codes and keys. - Maintain a safe, hygienic environment in line with safety protocols.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in janitorial or commercial cleaning.
- Supervisor experience considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
- Familiarity with workplace health and safety standards (e.g., WHMIS, OHSA).
- Experience in leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Must be bondable (Criminal Record Check).
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence required and vehicle.
- Basic computer literacy (email, checklists, mobile apps) is an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work while standing for extended periods.
