Position Summary

The Supply Chain & Logistics Manager is a hands‑on, operational leadership role responsible for end‑to‑end supply chain execution for one manufacturing plant, supporting Savaria’s Brampton operations, with regular on‑site collaboration in Mississauga.

This role oversees daily supply chain activities including inventory management, purchasing, logistics, warehousing, production planning support, and supplier coordination. The successful candidate will lead a small operational team across shipping and receiving while actively resolving urgent supply issues to ensure uninterrupted production.

This position requires a strong execution mindset, comfort working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, and the ability to balance people leadership with hands‑on problem solving.

Work Location:

100% on‑site – 2 Walker Drive, Brampton (with regular travel to Mississauga).

Key Responsibilities Supply Chain Operations & Execution
  • Manage daily supply chain operations to ensure material availability for production
  • Oversee inventory levels (raw materials, WIP, finished goods) to balance service and working capital
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and corrective actions
  • Identify and resolve material shortages, supplier delays, and logistics disruptions
  • Support production planning in collaboration with Production Managers
  • Act as the primary escalation point for supplier performance issues
  • Proactively engage suppliers to expedite orders, resolve issues, and drive root‑cause actions
  • Manage transportation and logistics providers to ensure on‑time delivery and cost control
  • Support plant‑level S&OP / SIOP activities
People Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead Shipping, Receiving, and Logistics teams (approximately 5 direct reports)
  • Set clear expectations and ensure consistent execution of daily priorities
  • Provide hands‑on coaching and conduct regular team meetings and reviews
  • Promote accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, and Finance teams
  • Translate customer and production needs into effective inventory and replenishment strategies
  • Support plant‑level operational and supply chain reviews
  • Continuous Improvement & Reporting
  • Track and improve key KPIs including fill rate, supplier on‑time delivery, inventory turns, backorders, and open POs
  • Identify opportunities to reduce surplus and obsolete inventory
  • Drive process improvements across purchasing, receiving, shipping, and inventory management
  • Ensure adherence to systems, procedures, and documentation standards.
Qualifications
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related field
  • 5–10 years of experience in operational supply chain, logistics, or materials management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2–3 years in leadership leading inventory, planning, purchasing, logistics or warehouse team
  • Proven experience in:
    • Inventory management
    • Purchasing / replenishment
    • Warehousing, shipping, and receiving
    • Supplier coordination and expediting
    • Experience supporting production planning and working directly with Production Managers
    • Prior experience leading or supervising operational teams
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to escalatte issues clearly and concisely
  • Comfortable working with global suppliers and different time zones
  • Proficiency with ERP / MRP systems and supply chain reporting tools
