PRIMARY PURPOSE**:
** To inspect cargo damaged in transit and determine the nature, cause, and extent of damages; to review documents to determine when the cargo was damaged; and to provide written reports to underwriters and other parties with his/her qualified opinion as to the cause of loss.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
* Oversees loading and unloading of cargo from ships and other forms of transit to document damages as they are loaded and/or unloaded.
* Inspects damaged ships to determine cause of the damage and amount of damage resulting from collisions or motor failures.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* Supports the organization's quality program(s).
* Travels as required.

QUALIFICATIONS Education & Licensing   Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience   Five (5) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Skills & Knowledge
* Good oral and written communication skills
* PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
* Good customer service skills
* Good organizational skills
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment
