Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

We’re looking for an
** Intermediate
* * or
** Senior Underwriter**, Specialty Solutions, to join our growing team!

** What you’ll do here:
*** Analyze requests for quotes, renewals and policy changes, and recommend solutions
* Support brokers regarding underwriting and rating policies
* Use negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company
* Participate in broker visits, industry functions and marketing events
* Provide ongoing support in expanding the department, and make recommendations for process improvements
* Rate and prepare quotes for new business and renewals
* Handle policy transactions including renewals, endorsements and cancellations.
* As directed, generate letters and memos to brokers from the system.
* Support team members within Specialty Solutions as well as other divisions at Intact
** What you bring to the table:
*** University degree/College diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experience
* Minimum 1 years of relevant experience for Intermediate level and minimum 3 years of experience for Senior level
* Strong knowledge in Excel is an asset
* Analytical, self-motivated and strive to deliver at a high standard
* Initiative and ability to work under pressure
* Strong team player, with outstanding collaboration and communication skills
* Can develop and maintain excellent relationships with brokers
* Interested in and stay up to date on business trends or other developments impacting our industry
* CIP designation or working towards it
* No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
