Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

We’re looking for a
** Manager of Equipment Breakdown**, Specialty solutions, to join our growing team!
** What you’ll do here:
*** Build a strong book of profitable business while also auditing policies to ensure adherence to company standards.
* Coach underwriters and assist in negotiating with brokers on larger opportunities.
* Train brokers and underwriting staff on underwriting matters.
* Communicate on a regular basis with key broker contacts on accounts, plans and results.
* Liaison with the Business Development Team to reinforce and facilitate desired effects to the broker’s portfolio performance.
* Manage employee performance and contribute to the salary review process.
* Hold regular team meetings with staff to communicate corporate and branch issues and to respond to employee issues.
* Participate in the establishment of premium and loss ratio targets.
* Authorize the acceptance of new business, renewals and endorsements.
* Promote the company’s products through information sessions with brokers.
* Develop and manage effective working relationships with brokers, staff, and other departments.
* Establish and maintain service levels by organizing and monitoring work flow and setting priorities to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.
* Establish goals and monitor the development of underwriting staff to ensure achievement of department Business Plan.
** What you bring to the table:
*** University and/or College Degree or any combination of equivalent education and experience
* Minimum 8 to 10 years of underwriting experience in Commercial or Specialty Lines with focus on marketing/ business growth, including minimum 3 years in people management
* Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
* Can work in a constantly changing environment
* Strong customer service orientation
* Open to travel within Canada
* No Canadian work experience…
