Senior DevOps Engineer

Rival is looking for a Canada based (Ideally East Coast as you will be working EST hours) Senior Dev Ops Engineer with experience supporting enterprise grade software delivery. This is a remote opportunity to experience working in a growing technology company that will allow you to put your signature on the direction of the architecture and engineering culture.

Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you’ll be responsible for leading the Dev Ops team, designing and implementing scalable infrastructure, ensuring smooth deployment processes, and monitoring and maintaining the stability and performance of our production systems. You will work closely with software developers, QA, and our tech support team to oversee and integrate Dev Ops best practices to improve our product releases, quality, and manage the infrastructure.

• Lead and mentor a team of Dev Ops engineers, providing guidance, support, and career development opportunities.
• Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure using AWS, including integration with other 3rd party platforms.
• Automate and optimize infrastructure management tasks using infrastructure as Code like Terraform, Cloud formation, AWS CDK.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient, secure and high-quality code deployment. Assess risk and mitigation strategies during the software delivery lifecycle.
• Monitor and maintain system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability of all production systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues, providing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
• Conduct regular security audits with our Security team, implementing necessary measures to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Represents the Dev Ops team at Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and signs-off releases.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, continuously improving and evolving the Dev Ops processes and tools.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Dev Ops, Systems Engineering, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Please note, we are open to both Senior Dev Ops Engineer or Lead Dev Ops Engineer's.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms, ideally with AWS.
• Experience implementing infrastructure as code and orchestrations using Terraform. AWS Cloud Formation, AWS SDK, Shell scripts.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket Pipeline, Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or Circle
  
  CI.
• Experience in containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like AWS ECS/Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding and knowledge of cloud networking, cloud and pipeline security measures, and monitoring tools such as Datadog and AWS X-Ray.
• Experience with translation of security controls and configurations into code and integrate in deployment pipelines.
• Experience working with databases and big data sets.
